The Government has asked Nurseries around the UK to remain partially open for the children of vital keyworkers needing to work during the outbreak of the COVID 19 virus. This year for pancake day our Chef Ben used a recipe from BBC food magazine for Crepe Madames. Our Chef used various fillings including asparagus, creme fraiche, ham, cheese, tuna, spinach and egg. The children (and staff!) really enjoyed this recipe.
Pre-school have been enjoying their Forest school outings with our qualified forest school leader Carly.
The Nursery held our annual Pre-school Nativity play in early December. The children and staff did a wonderful job and it was lovely to see so many parents and family members attend. We are so proud of the way the children remembered their lines and sang their Christmas songs with great gusto!
Winter is coming! All parents will be sent a copy of our adverse weather policy via email and given a paper copy when they come in to the Nursery.
Our Nursery team has been working towards achieving our Early Years Nutritional award through the British Nutrition Foundation. We are training 5 members of our staff team from each room and our chef. This award helps us to really focus on the children's nutritional needs and how to best meet them. We are having lots of fun changing our menus, snacks and teaching the children about the benefits of healthy eating. We are thrilled to announce that our new Balloon room classroom for our 2-3 year old's is now officially open The classroom is a much lighter, open space and leads directly onto the children's outdoor decking area.
In Forest school this week the children had fun making bird feeders and exploring a local nature area.
